Power Verse...Matthew 12:21..

"In His name the nations will put their hope."

God’s Promise to YOU!!    Romans 8:34

Hope?

Robert Schuler once told the story of a Catholic priest who was playing golf.  He needed to make this long, long shot in order to at least keep up with the competition.  He was in the rough and it wasn't going to be easy.  He took his time and concentrated....then he took his swing.  He sliced it and it hit a tree...at that moment a clap of thunder came out of no where!  The ball bounced off the tree,  hit a fence post and bounced off another tree and headed for the green.  Low and behold, the ball made it to the cup....circled the cup twice and fell nicely into it.  The Priest promptly prayed....OH Thank you Father, but I really would have rather done it myself!

So, many of us are like the Priest....we'd rather do it ourselves...and like Dr. Schuler pointed out after he told that story.....WE want to do it ourselves because down deep we want all the glory.  I believe that is true to some degree but, I also think the greatest danger is....down deep inside us...we think that if we can't do it ....it can't be done.  If we are not in control things will not work out!  And that is dangerous ground to tread upon!

Certainly we are a factor in God's plan for us....but the impossible comes along to allow God room to work...You see, Jesus said..."With God all things are possible!"  Mark 9:23.  In most cases the impossible is done "With God" and He guides you to take the actions and receive the answers.

However, there are times when He wants you to just take a stand and let Him do the rest!  Just stand there and watch God do the impossible for you!  He takes pleasure in being your Father!

Put your hope where nations, past and present, have put their hope...In Jesus...the Hope of the World!
