"For, God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall
not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the
world through Him. (John 3:16-17)
God sent his son, Jesus, to bring everyone into fellowship with
Him and to make every person His very own child.
He asks us to believe that Jesus is not only His Son, but that
He gave His life for us on a Roman cross over 2000 years ago.
Belief in Jesus is of most importance. Jesus, Himself, said,
"If you don't believe in me, you shall die in your sins." (John 8:24)
He also said, ".....and whoever lives and believes in me shall
never die." (John 11:26)
Once you believe in Jesus, that is the first step to salvation.
Just believing is not enough. The Bible tells us that even the demons believe and tremble. (James 2:19)
You must let Jesus become the Lord of your Life. You must
live and believe in Him. Once you are ready to do that you will certainly be convicted of the sins you have committed
and the Holy Spirit will lead you to repentance.
If you believe in the Lord Jesus and confiess that He is your
only Lord and Savior, then you must repent of you sins. The word repent means to "turn away from". In other words,
turn your back on sin and walk away determined not to continue in sin.
Our God is a merciful God and stands ready to forgive us of all
our sins. The beautiful thing of all this is that once you have made Jesus the Lord of your life, you come under God's loving
grace. Even though you will never be perfect you will sin from time to time, you only have to confess your sins to Him
through Jesus and He forgives you!
Because you love Him and are living in Him you become eager to
obey all his commands. He gave us a new command right before he was crucified. He said...."A new command I give
you: You must Love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
(John 13:34)
In Matthew 28:19 Jesus told his disciples, "Go and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing then in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching
them to obey everything I have commanded you."
"Everything" includes baptism. Look into it for yourself.
In Mark 16:16 ....Jesus says, "Whoever believes and is baptized shall be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."
In Acts the second chapter, Peter preached the first sermon after
Christ had risen and accended to heaven. The people who heard this sermon were convicted in their hearts and they ask,
"What must we do to be saved?"
Peter answered, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you,
in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
This promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-- for all whom the Lord our God will call." (Acts 2:38-39)
Baptism plays an important part in salvation and in receiving
the Holy Spirit in this passage of scripture.
Paul also explains Baptism as the way of dying and being born
again to walk a new life. (Romans 6:1-11)
We urge you to find yourself a good Bible believing Church that
believes in water baptism and be baptized. The sooner you do this the more complete in Christ you will be.
God bless you! Go and enjoy God's special gift and we'll
meet in heaven full of peace and joy!
